inspiring blogger

Thanks to Rarasaur for passing this Very Inspiring Blogger Award to Everyday Gurus. If you haven’t been to Rarasaur’s blog, treat yourself to this eclectic, prolific, insightful, and, most importantly, hilarious experience. Rara is one of those bloggers who seems to have 40 hours in every day. She posts almost incessantly, sometimes twice a day, and her posts are always well-written, illustrated, multimedia explosions of quirky sanity in an insane world. To top it off, she responds and comments 24/7/365. If you get her to follow your blog, you can be sure that she will read everything and usually comment. Thank you for being, Rarasaur.

This is actually the second award Everyday Gurus has received, but I am such a newbie that I did not know I got the first award from bodhisatvaintraing or what to do with it. Luckily, this time I got some instructions.

Very Inspiring Blogger Award Rules

1.  Display the award logo on your blog.
2.  Link back to the person who nominated you.
3.  State 5 things about yourself.
4.  Pass the award onto 6 other bloggers and link to one of their specific posts so that they get notified by ping back.

Five Things About Me:

  1. I introduced my son to God by playing Bob Marley songs whenever he wanted to hear music. It must have worked because now he walks around singing, “Everything is gonna be alright, Everything is gonna be alright.”
  2. I consider myself a New Age, Old School, Christian, Buddhist, Taoist, Jedi in training.
  3. Although I am fourth-generation Japanese American, I don’t speak any Japanese because my family is from Hawaii where speaking Japanese after the attack on Pearl Harbor was abunai (dangerous). Ok. I speak a little Japanese like bakatare (idiot), benjo (bathroom), shi shi (pee pee) and yakamashii (you’re making too much noise). Mostly things my paternal grandmother yelled at us during our hanabata days (days when we had boogers all over our faces/days of childhood).
  4. I’m an activity stalker. If I get interested in something I spend every waking hour thinking, researching, and practicing that activity.
  5. My current stalking victim is blogging.

Six Bloggers who have been very inspiring for me:

  1. Bodhisatvaintraining, not because she nominated me for the beautiful blogger award, but because her courage, honesty, and empathy in dealing with a difficult situation has inspired me to be more like her in my daily life.
  2. Dieuonthegrass. I first followed Dieu for her amazing poetry, but the more I read her postings, I realized that she is so much more than a sensual poet. She is a beautiful spirit who sprinkles magic on those who follow her.
  3. Dianne Gray author. Dianne defines inspiration for me. She is an award winning author, a Freshly Pressed blogger, and a full-time writer since she recently quit her day job. She is everything I aspire to be. And she gets to live in Australia. I think I just found my subject for the Weekly Photo Challenge: Green, because I am green with envy.
  4. Mirth and Motivation. Elizabeth probably has a ton of these awards, but she has been so inspirational for me that I had to pass this award on to her. When she first started following my blog, Elizabeth gave me the best advice: “Welcome to Blog Land then! A little secret… don’t forget to reciprocate and if people don’t visit right away, it’s not personal, we ‘re all swamped and behind; trying to catch up on blogs. Even a quick Like is better than AWOL! Do the best you can and, no matter what, just do your writing and remember what got you started in the first place. Just my two cents. ;-)” Like Rarasaur, Elizabeth is amazing how much she gets done each day. She follows her own advice and faithfully reads and comments on all the blogs she follows. Visit her blog for a daily dose of positive vibrations.
  5. NikotheOrb. Niko is one of the most creative people I know. She is a poet, writer, artist, filmmaker, musician, animator, philosopher, and graphic artist. You never know what you are going to get when you click on Niko’s blog. She even creates her own genres like 3 dimensional storytelling or visual poetry.
  6. Good Morning Gratitude. If you haven’t noticed gratitude is a big part of my blog. James Browning blogs nothing but gratitude. He seems to do this without any concern about followers, site stats, or likes. He turned off likes and comments on his posts. I think he simply posts as an act of gratitude. Whatever the reason, his posts lead me towards gratitude every day.

Thank you for reading, sharing, and smiling.
